The KVK is located at 35 Km distance from district head quarter Nongpoh and 25 Km from State capital Shillong. Regular bus, taxi, sumo service are available from Guwahati as well as Shillong. As the KVK is located in the main campus of the ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, people from other part of the country can also easily reach here. It takes about 2 ½ hours from Guwahati to reach the campus (distance from Guwahati is 80 Km).
